Find My Device trackers allow you to activate the network on your Android device

Worried that you’ll soon receive Find My Device-compatible trackers but the network hasn’t been activated on your phone yet? The good news is that it looks like it won’t cause any problems during the installation process.

We recently started rolling out the improved Find My Device network on Android. However, the process was a bit slow. Still, many users have not received the availability notification on their mobile devices. On the other hand, Find My Device-compatible trackers are already shipping to buyers.

This has raised some concerns among users who feel that their new tracker will be useless for some time until they receive the Find My Device web notification on their phones. However, it appears that this will not be the case, as noted by 9to5Google. According to the report, Find My Device trackers automatically activate the network on your phone even if you haven’t received a notification about its availability.

You can automatically activate Find My Device on your phone with supported trackers

After starting the configuration process, the author managed to connect the Chipolo tracker and Pixel 8 Pro to the network without any problems. Your Pixel phone hasn’t received any network availability notification yet. So it looks like supported trackers allow the Find My Device network to be automatically activated on devices that haven’t been accessed yet.

Connecting the Find My Device tracker to your Android device is quite simple. Google Fast Pair helps speed up this process. Just press the pairing button on the tracker. Then simply authorize the connection through the pop-up window that will appear on nearby devices. You’ll also need to connect your Google account, but everything will be ready in just a few taps.

But what can you do with your trackers once you’re connected? You will have available actions such as tracking its location, playing a loud sound, or sharing it with other users. You can even mark it as lost and get directions to the last detected location.
