‘The Beauty in Black’ Cast and Character Guide

Tyler Perry returns with another thrilling drama about two women whose contrasting lives collide in an explosive journey that reveals the dark secrets of a wealthy family.

The 16-episode series premieres Thursday and is the latest project in Perry’s multi-year creative deal with Netflix. The series is written, produced and directed by Perry. “The Beauty in Black” will be a two-part series, with the first episode available to stream now.

“I’ve been told many times over the years that Black entertainment isn’t expanding all around the world,” Perry told Netflix’s Tudum. “So it was extraordinary how Netflix continued to disprove that over and over again with everything I put on the platform.”

Supporting cast includes Amber Reign Smith as Rain, Steven G. Norfleet as Charles, Julian Horton as Roy, Terrell Carter as Varney, Shannon Wallace as Calvin, Bryan Tanaka as Officer Alex, Joy Rovaris as Gillian, Xavier Smalls as Angel, Charles Malik is taking. Whitfield as Jules, Tamera “Tee” Kissen as Body, Ursula O. Robinson as Delinda, Ashley Versher as Lena, and George Middlebrook as Officer Trackson.

Taylor Polidore Williams as Kimmie

Taylor Polidore Williams stars in the series as Kimmie, a stripper whose bad luck leads her into the path of a wealthy but dysfunctional family that hides dark, twisted secrets.

Crystalle Stewart as Mallory

Crystle Stewart co-captains “The Beauty in Black” as Mallory, a successful businesswoman who owns a hair care company. In the midst of running his empire, he struggles with dysfunction within his family. He is ready to do anything, even kill, to protect his image.

His previous credits include “Acrimony,” “For Better or Worse,” “Too Close to Home,” “The Old Ones” and more.

Ricco Ross as Horace

Ricco Ross plays Horace in the exciting series. He is a regular customer at Kimmie’s strip club and offers Kimmie another option in life.

Ross’s acting resume includes “Phoenix,” “The Legend of Catclaws Mountain,” “If We Had Luck,” “Last Job,” “Vax,” “General Hospital” and more.

Debbi Morgan as Olivia

Debbie Morgan appears as Olivia, one of the leading roles in the series. He seems to be one of the only voices of sanity amidst the ongoing drama, but he may have some twisted secrets of his own.

Morgan has previously starred in many of Perry’s projects, including “Power Book II: Ghost,” “Our Kind of People,” “Fantasy Island” and “Bigger,” as well as “Divorce in Black.”

Richard Lawson as Norman

Long-time actor Richard Lawson plays the role of Norman in the series. Based on the trailer for the series, Norman and Olivia appear to be enemies with a mutual friend.
