Watch | A fire breaks out at the posh Lotus Boulevard Society in Sector 100 of Noida

On Thursday morning, a fire broke out in an apartment in the elegant Lotus Boulevard Society skyscraper in Sector 100 Noida, reports the newswire. This was reported to PTI.

Quoting the authorities, PTI reported that there was no information about any casualties yet and the fire had already been extinguished.

“The fire was extinguished by fire safety officers. Further details will be provided soon,” a police spokesman said.

Videos posted on social media show thick smoke rising from an apartment in one of the society’s residential towers.

Incidents of fire outbreak

Many major and minor fire outbreaks have been reported this month, especially in the last two weeks.

The most famous and deadliest of them is the Rajkot TRP gaming zone fire and the child care center fire in Delhi.

A devastating fire that ripped through the TRP Gaming Zone in Rajkot, Gujarat on May 25 claimed the lives of at least 27 people, including children. One of the owners, Prakash Hiran, also died as a result of the fire. NDTV reported that CCTV footage captured Hiran at the spot and his vehicle was found at the fire site.

In another incident, at least seven newborn babies died on Saturday evening after a fire broke out at New Born Baby Care Hospital in Vivek Vihar, Delhi. According to reports, seven dead babies, including four male and three female newborns, were rushed to GTB Hospital for post-mortem.

The Delhi Fire Brigade suspected that the possible cause of the fire was an “electrical fault”.

Meanwhile, on May 28, a major fire broke out in the forested hills near Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Kainchi Dham in Nainital district of Uttarakhand. The government has arrived at the scene and the fire brigade is trying to control the fire, which threatens to spread to the entire region. A video of a fire in the Nainital forest hills is circulating on social media.

On the same day, at least six people suffered burns after a fire broke out in an industrial area in Mumbai’s Dharavi slum, city authorities said.
