Rainbow 6 Siege Y9S2 introduces 2 new operators: Striker and Sentry

Following the release of Operation Deadly Omen in March Rainbow Six: Siege they just started 9S2 with Operation New Blood. This season we are introducing a remaster of Recruit, introducing two new Operators: the Striker to attack and the Sentinel to defend.

While the Recruit lacks unique gadgets, he can carry two different secondary gadgets, opening up the potential for diverse and dynamic gameplay combinations.

Additionally, Ubisoft introduced updates to Versus AI, map filter fixes, stadium improvements and more.

Striker and Guard in Y9S2

Forward and Guard now step into the role of Recruit in attack and defense respectively, offering more versatility than their predecessors.

Both are now selectable in Ranked play and can be customized with various cosmetic items, some of which will be available as part of the Operation New Blood Battle Pass.

Unlike other Operators, the Striker and Sentinel lack unique gadgets. Instead, they have the option to equip two additional gadgets of their choice for each mission.

What will the striker be like?

The attacker’s dream of single-handedly opening an electrified wall using EMP concussion grenades and a hard breach charge can now be fulfilled. They can also plot their own path to the target with a breaching charge and then secure their flank with a claymore.

While other attackers can choose one additional gadget, the Attacker can choose two different ones, as long as they are not the same item.

Some striker equipment combinations:

• Claymore and breaching charges for flanking and creating entry points
• Impact EMP grenades and hard breaching charges for single-handed wall breaching
• Stun grenades and smoke grenades used for area denial and disorientation

What will the Sentry be like?

Defensively, the Sentry can achieve similar goals but with a different set of gadgets at its disposal. They can prioritize remaining undetected by an attacker’s drones by selecting a surveillance block and strategically placing a bulletproof camera nearby to discourage surveillance.

Alternatively, they can create dangerous scenarios by strategically placing proximity alarms and lurking nearby with a nitro cell to surprise unsuspecting attackers.

Some Plot equipment combinations:

• Shock grenades and deployable shields for fortified defensive positions
• Surveillance lock and bulletproof camera for better information denial
• Proximity alarm and nitro cell for ambushes and area lockout
