Pebblebee Android Find My Device Trackers and Chargers

We have in our hands the largest set of trackers for the Find My Device network for Android from Pebblebee, which, unlike others, include chargers and accessories in the set.

What’s in the Pebblebee Find My Device tracker box?

There are three trackers from Pebblebee for the Android Find My Device network. Cards, tags, and clips offer different use cases, but work in the same way as other trackers on the web. But all three provide a bit more value right out of the box.

With the Pebblebee Clip, the cheapest available at $29.99, you get just the tracker along with a metal ring. This ring has a carabiner-like clip, which gives the tracker its name. The tracker itself also has a light ring on the sides, and the box includes a USB-C cable (not shown in the photo) for charging. Simply connect the tracker to a USB-C cable to charge the battery, which Pebblebee claims will last up to 12 months.

Meanwhile, the Pebblebee Card comes with just the charger in the box. But it’s still better than the others. For example, Chipolo does not support recharging its tracking card in any way and only requires users to buy a new one when it expires after two years. Pebblebee provides up to 18 months of operation on a single charge, and the device has LEDs indicating the charge level.

Finally, the Pebblebee Tag is the most compact of the three trackers. It includes a card-like magnetic charger, but also comes with a small silicone case and an adhesive sticker that allows you to attach it to a surface.

All three trackers also include a “Quick Start” tab and a QR code to help with setup.

How to set up Find My Device trackers in Pebblebee on Android

Setting up Pebblebee trackers for Android Find My Device is probably the easiest product setup I’ve seen in a while. Like the Chipolo trackers we set up earlier this week, Pebblebee uses Fast Pair for setup. However, each tracker comes with a sticker that contains a QR code that leads to a web app that explains the setup process in detail.

The web app is quick and concise, and also includes instructions for accessing the quick pairing “Devices” menu in Google Play Services, which can manually trigger pairing if you accidentally swipe the prompt. The web application also allows you to register your device for warranty purposes.

On all three devices, initiating pairing is a matter of double-tapping the button below the Pebblebee logo. However, I have noticed that this cannot happen too quickly. A slow double tap starts pairing more reliably.

What can you do with Pebblebee trackers in Find My Device?

Pebblebee trackers work in the Find My Device app exactly like Chipolo and other trackers. You can:

  • Check the tracker’s location
  • Play audio from the tracker
  • Share the tracker with someone else

Sharing is done via simple link sharing, and when you don’t have your device with you, the app will let you mark it as lost and get directions to its last known location.

There’s a settings menu where you can rename the tracker (default is the product name) and change the “category” of the object it’s attached to with options like bag, wallet, and more. The app will also “guide” you to the tracker, letting you know when you get close to it – none of them have the UWB function available.
