Gina Miresse – University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point

Bio

Gina Miresse joined the College of Professional Studies as Principal Gift Officer in June 2022. Miresse joins UW-Stevens Point after more than 13 years with the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) in Custer, most recently as the organization’s director of development , where she worked with MREA’s community of members and donors to expand the use of renewable energy through innovative programs, renewable energy training and educational events. Miresse also chaired the MREA Nominations and Awards Committee and co-founded the Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee.

Miresse is originally from Wisconsin but grew up in Montana and Virginia, where she trained as a classical ballet dancer at the Virginia School of the Arts and subsequently performed with many professional companies, including Ballet Montana, Drop Dance Collective and Transcribing Dance Co.

Miresse earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Boise State University in 2006 and then returned to Wisconsin to actively join the Stevens Point community. She served as a grant reviewer for the Wisconsin Environmental Education Council and was treasurer of the Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame from 2016-21. She obtained her certification as a Pilates instructor in 2010 and enjoys teaching classes at Studio B Pilates in Stevens Point.

Miresse and her husband Vinnie have two children. Miresse’s hobbies include hiking, supporting the arts, and traveling with her family.
