IRSA releases 314,400 cusecs of water

ISLAMABAD, May 30 (APP): Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Thursday released 314,400 cusecs of water from various shore stations against an inflow of 355,600 cusecs.

According to data released by IRSA, the water level of the Indus River at Tarbela Barrage was 540.07 feet, which was 70.07 feet higher than the dead level of 1,398 feet. The inflow and outflow of water through the dam were recorded as 144,900 cusecs and 140,000 cusecs respectively.

The water level of Jhelum river at Mangla barrage was 350.3 m, which was 137.30 m higher than its dead level of 3,000 m. Water inflow and outflow were recorded as 61,300 cusecs and 25,000 cusecs respectively.

Water release in Kalabagh, Taunsa, Guddu and Sukkur was recorded as 217,000, 165,900, 107,000 and 37,300 cusecs respectively. Similarly, in the case of Kabul River, a total of 91,300 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 32,600 cusecs was released from Chenab River at Marala.
