Biden’s office authorizing New Mexico’s renewable energy assistance

The White House’s internal permitting office reached an agreement Thursday to streamline renewable energy construction in New Mexico, marking the first such partnership in the agency’s history.

Under the agreement, the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Board formally agreed to make its services available to the New Mexico Renewable Energy Transmission Authority (RETA) for its renewable energy transmission and storage projects.

More such agreements may follow, according to Eric Beightel, executive director of the Permitting Board.
