3 acquisitions KKR could make in the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions

Kolkata Knight Riders deservedly won IPL 2024. It is not certain what the retention criteria would be for IPL 2025. Nevertheless, KKR still have some ideas on how they can improve their squad for the upcoming campaign. Here, we take a look at the list of three acquisitions that KKR could make in the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.

1) Reliable left-arm off-spinner

Almost every team in the competition has a reliable left sprinter. However, despite this, KKR won the trophy. Anukul Roy came on for a few matches but didn’t leave a lasting mark.

KKR will look at players like R Sai Kishore and Mitchell Santner if they are released by their franchises. Such players will diversify the pivot attack and strengthen its department.

2) High quality Indian goalkeeper

The Indian wicketkeeper is one of the acquisitions that KKR could make in the mega auctions of IPL 2025. Phil Salt has done well and Gurbaz has given some decent performances. However, in the long run, KKR would like to have an Indian wicketkeeper who is the best batsman in the top-flight.

KS Bharat wouldn’t be a serious option for the team anyway. If someone like Prabhsimran Singh is released, KKR will want to target such a player.

3) Another foreign attacker with a gun

Mitchell Starc strengthened the team in the last and two most important matches for the team. However, earlier the Australian looked average.

KKR will want to have one more foreign gun player in the team. The player must be able to give his all like Starc and also nurture the youth in the team. Josh Hazlewood and Kagiso Rabada are some of the options to consider. Of course, KKR will also be pushing to retain Starc.
