A renewable energy shop aims to make Banstead green

The team behind the renewable energy center said they hope it will encourage more people to use green technologies.

The Banstead SME Energy Center was founded by a group of specialists in electrical, mechanical, plumbing and solar energy.

They will provide advice to householders, businesses and schools on choosing the green energy technology that best suits their needs.

Alex Lockwood, who is behind the project, said its aim was to “help change the negative narrative”.

For those unable to come to Banstead in person, we have prepared a virtual tour of the High Street store, which opens on Friday.

Lockwood said: “We are all concerned about climate change and the challenges the world will face if we don’t make efforts now to reduce our carbon footprint.

“We want to help change the negative narrative around renewable energy by highlighting the many positive features of a wide range of top-notch green energy systems.

The design team says young people are already interested in the store, asking questions about how to transition to a greener world.
