Standardized conveyors increase productivity

In April, sustainable technology solutions provider Metso launched the production version of its FIT and Foresight plant conveyors, land conveyors for reliable material handling in the mining industry.

Metso Foresight high-capacity land conveyors are permanently installed or relocatable and connect the main crushing station to the coarse ore stockpile; while Metso FIT in-plant conveyors are compatible with Metso FIT crushers, which have been designed for the most demanding mining applications.

Standardized conveyor modules and high-quality components ensure high system efficiency and flexibility, as well as significant time and resource savings, from feasibility and design to implementation, thus enabling higher productivity over the entire lifecycle, Metso reports.

“FIT and Foresight modular conveyors take project ease, speed and productivity to the next level,” says Metso senior vice president of crushing Guillaume Lambert.

He adds that Metso has designed these conveyors to facilitate planning, configuration, installation and maintenance with a wide range of modules and components.

“This allows our mining customers to get their internal and onshore transportation systems up and running faster, and provides a faster return on investment.

“Thanks to the standardized modular design of the conveyors, we were able to reduce delivery times by up to 25% and setup times by up to 15%,” explains Lambert.

The conveyors feature Metso’s highest quality components, and the use of ConveyInsights predictive maintenance and flow control technology can help customers achieve their productivity goals.

“To streamline the Foresight land conveyor feasibility process, we have developed William Conveyor Explorer, an application software that connects to our range of conveyor modules. It can be found in the new Metso Crush and Convey Resource Center.

“Our mining management and engineering, procurement and construction customers can enter data about their processes and routes, then instantly evaluate multiple options and download the modules they need for efficient planning in their software environment. This development also supports mine electrification programs, enabling the rapid implementation of decarbonization plans and goals,” notes Lambert.

To ensure continuous performance of your conveyors, Metso can provide a wide range of services, from optimization and lifecycle services to the highest quality performance and replacement parts.

Metso has installed over 1,000 km of conveyors worldwide.
