China promises support for the manufacturing sector – Business and finance

ISLAMABAD: China is committed to helping Pakistan strengthen its manufacturing sector and export capabilities, said Yang Guangyuan, China’s economic adviser in Pakistan.

He was speaking at the China-South Asia Business Council Symposium held at a local hotel in Islamabad.

“China is ready to cooperate with all South Asian countries, including Pakistan, to build a future of development and prosperity. By leveraging the Belt and Road Initiative and CPEC, we aim to enhance the economic stability and regional prosperity of both regions,” Guangyuan said.

The 2024 China South Asia Business Council Symposium, organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) in cooperation with the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), aimed to strengthen China cooperation -South Asia under the Belt and Road Initiative and creating a platform for broader business opportunities between South Asian and Chinese enterprises.

Liu Qilin, chairman of the CCPIT Yunnan sub-council, in his remarks emphasized the importance of industrial cooperation between China and South Asian countries to promote green development. “In the context of growing political mutual trust and sustained economic cooperation between China and South Asian countries, the China South-Asia Expo provides a key platform to reflect the common aspirations of the industrial and commercial sectors,” Qilin said.

Ashfaq Yousuf Tola, former Minister of State, praised the efforts of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARC CCI), Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) for organizing the symposium.
