A US trade panel opens an investigation into patent infringement on Apple devices

WASHINGTON (Reuters): The U.S. International Trade Commission said it has opened a Section 337 investigation into whether some Apple Inc mobile devices and laptops infringe patents from Japan’s Maxell Holdings.

In its investigation, Maxell alleged that Apple’s devices infringed patents relating to technology, including unlocking features and video streaming processes. Maxell asked the Commission to prohibit the import and sale of the devices into the United States.
