WASHINGTON, May 30, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Department of the Navy (DON) has selected Verizon Public Sector to deliver wireless devices and services through the Wireless and Telecommunications Services Contract Vehicle (Spiral 4). The total value of this multiple contract will be up to $2.67 billion over a 10-year period.

Under Spiral 4, military personnel and federal civilian agencies will receive cost-effective, best-value solutions while meeting government requirements for current and future wireless mobility services. Spiral 4 includes improvements to industry standards, technological advances and more competitive pricing plans, replacing the previous iteration.

In addition to DON, Spiral 4 will cover the Department of Defense more broadly. The Office of the Secretary of Defense’s previous mandate to the Department of Defense to use Spiral 3 will be transferred to the new contract.

“Verizon’s inclusion in Spiral 4 reflects our understanding of DON’s sophisticated mission-critical communications requirements developed over the course of our history of digital modernization partnerships with federal agencies, including Spiral 3,” said David Rouse, head of Verizon’s defense portfolio . “We are proud to continue to serve military agencies under this new contract and build on our relationship with the Department of Defense.”

Under the multiple contract agreement over the next 10 years, Verizon will provide services including voice, data, IoT and mobility management.
