Mother of missing woman Breanna Muriwai continues search for daughter despite family death toll

“I’m tired of seeing my babies suffer. They have endured far too much and don’t deserve it anymore,” she said.

“I will continue to push and push and push until my children get the closure and healing they deserve.”

She said her 9-year-old son still doesn’t know the full story of what happened.

“He knows she disappeared at Horo Beach. He thinks his sister went swimming to Kāpiti Island,” she said.

“You can tell by his face that this is not a good result.”

However, Gray remained determined in her quest to discover the truth about her daughter.

“I’m Breanna’s mom and it wasn’t a fair fight for her. She’s my baby and I will forever be her voice. I will forever share my pain and suffering over what it feels like to be his mama bear.

“She’s my child and I will do what I think is best for her. I have my answers, I know what I know.

Despite extensive investigation and tireless research by Muriwai’s relatives, she has not been seen since.

After last month’s convoy, police sent a message to those searching for Muriwai.

“We know that people want to help and that the motivation behind today’s research is well-intentioned, but our concern with private research is the risk that crucial evidence may be inadvertently destroyed or compromised, and that is something “something we communicated with Breanna’s family prior to today’s activity,” Senior Sergeant Dave Thompson said at the time.

“The most valuable thing you can do is talk to us if you have any information that might help you. »

Muriwai was picked up the Friday before she went missing by a friend in Wellington. They traveled to Palmerston North, where they stayed until Saturday evening.

The last CCTV footage of Muriwai was captured at a liquor store in Palmerston North at around 11.15am on Saturday.

They began returning to Muriwai’s home that evening, picking up another man on the way and continuing south. They stopped several times along the way, with a friend withdrawing money from Muriwai’s bank account during one of the stops.

Things got murky when Muriwai and others went to Te Horo beach.

“Breanna reportedly ran away onto the beach and hasn’t been seen since,” Thompson said.
