Annual Holiday and Cookie Fair will be held on November 9 – Sentinel and Enterprise

SHIRLEY — The Friends of Hazen Memorial Library invites the community to their 19th annual Holiday and Cookie Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the library located at 3 Keady Way.

“Start your holiday shopping early with a variety of wonderful items from talented local artisans and artisans, and (of course) enjoy a variety of delicious cookies,” said Deb Roy, director of the Hazen Memorial Library. “Also, if you want to bake two dozen cookies for the fair, let us know!”

The fair will feature over 20 talented local craftsmen and artists offering homemade soaps, jewelry, vintage crafts, mandala-painted bowls, hats, scarves, kitchenware, holiday decorations, bags and many other items for holiday shopping.

In addition, visitors will find local honey, baked goods, storage containers, shell crafts and, of course, plenty of homemade baked goods.

“This year the fair will feature raffle items and themed baskets where you can take a chance to win, as well as hot soup, chowder and chili during lunch,” Roy added.

The Friends of Hazen Memorial Library want to support small businesses and the Shirley community.

All proceeds from the fair go directly toward library programs, museum admissions and special events.

“Thank you for your support of Friends of the Library,” Roy said. “It’s a big community event.”
