8 main sectors recorded growth of 6.2% in April.

According to data published on Friday by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, eight key industries, which include sectors such as coal, cement, steel and electricity, recorded a growth of 6.2% in April this year compared to the same month of the year previous one.

Electricity production increased by 9.4% in April compared to the same month last year. The cumulative electricity rate for the financial year 2023-24, which ended on March 31, increased by 7.1% compared to the same period last year.

Steel production increased by 7.1% during the month. In 2023-2024, its cumulative index recorded a solid increase of 12.4% compared to the same period last year. Natural gas production increased by 8.6% in April 2024 compared to April 2023, while the green fuel’s cumulative rate increased by 6.1% in 2023-24 compared to the same period last year.IANS
