New games premiere for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles in June 2024

In just over a week, Microsoft will kick off its Xbox Games Showcase, where we’ll take a look at some of the highly anticipated games coming to Xbox platforms. Some of these games will be released this year, others may appear in a few years.

But if you’d like to play something now, we’ve got plenty of new games coming to Xbox Series X|S in June.

The highlight is undoubtedly Destiny 2: Final Shape. The latest expansion, arriving on June 4, marks the end of the war between Light and Darkness, concluding Destiny’s first major saga. The saga of Light and Darkness began over 10 years ago with the release of the original Destiny. Now the Guardians will face the series’ main villain, the Witness, in the Pale Heart – “an unraveling landscape where the deeds of our past echo.”

In addition to Destiny 2, the second major expansion coming in June will be Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Two years after we first set out on our adventure in The Lands Between, the first major expansion for FromSoftware’s critically acclaimed action RPG will take us to the Shadowlands – “a place obscured by Erdtree where the goddess Marika first set foot.” New lands, new weapons, and new enemies await in this mysterious and highly anticipated expansion.
