Rumors say that the iPhone 15 Pro will receive almost all the artificial intelligence features on the iOS 18 device; Everything you need to know

iOS 18 Leaks: Apple is expected to unveil the next version of the iPhone operating system, iOS 18, at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 on June 10. As the rumor mill reveals more details about the anticipated announcements, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shared possible devices that could be eligible to run artificial intelligence algorithms on the device in new information. As expected, iPhone 15 Pro and newer models will be able to handle AI tasks on the device.

Highlighting the latest models, Gurman did not reveal whether these device features will be available on the base iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, or other previous models. He also noted that Macs and iPads running on M1 or newer chips may also be eligible for AI support on the device. This could mean that the latest iPad Pro and iPad Air OLED will be able to get all the AI-powered features.

“Apple is betting that new AI features for iPhone will encourage users to update their devices. Many of the AI features available on the device will require an iPhone 15 Pro or later to function. Meanwhile, Macs and iPads will need at least an M1 chip,” said @markgurman on X (formerly Twitter).

Gurman’s latest speculation indicates that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max may be eligible for the update. For context, these devices run on the latest A17 Pro. The chipset includes a six-core CPU (two performance cores and four performance cores), a six-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine (capable of 35 trillion operations per second).

For computers and tablets, 2020 Macs and 2021 or later iPad Pro models may be eligible for AI features. However, other configurations such as RAM and Neural Engine can also be a limiting factor for AI features on these devices. On the other hand, the M3 and latest M4 chips may have more pronounced on-device AI capabilities than previous-generation versions due to their more powerful neural engine.
