Google is rolling out these new features on Android and WearOS

Google has announced seven new features for Wear OS Android phones, tablets and watches. These updates are designed to make your everyday life easier and more efficient. Here are the new features:

1. Edit sent messages:

– You’ll soon be able to edit sent messages in Google News. Just tap and hold a message to correct typos or add missing words within 15 minutes of sending.

2. Easily share hotspot and switch devices for video calls:

– With the new Instant Hotspot feature, you can connect your Android tablet or Chromebook to your phone’s hotspot with one tap, without having to enter a password.

– You can also switch devices during a Google Meet call by tapping the Cast icon, allowing you to seamlessly switch between your phone, tablet, or web browser.

3. New Kitchen Emoji Combinations:

– Emoji Kitchen will feature new sticker combinations, perfect for the festival season. Mix and match your favorite emojis, like disco ball and headphones, and share them as stickers via Gboard.

4. Control Google Home devices from your home screen:

– You can add the new Google Home Favorites widget to your phone’s home screen for quick management of your smart devices. With one touch you can check the room temperature or turn off the light. This feature is available to people in public preview.

5. Smart device control on Wear OS watches:

– Customize your Wear OS smartwatch with the Google Home Favorites tile for easy access to your smart home devices. Control your lights, door locks and temperature settings directly from your watch.

– Users in the US and Germany can now make secure payments with PayPal in Google Wallet on Wear OS watches.

6. Expanded availability of the digital car key:

– The Digital Car Key function, which allows you to lock, unlock and start your car using your phone, is now available on selected MINI models. It will soon be available for select Mercedes-Benz and Polestar vehicles, so you can safely share your digital car key with family and friends.
