Pvt schools in Bhopal on their feet after government order to ensure compliance with directive regarding fee regulations

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The government’s latest directive on fee regulations has rocked private schools in the city, forcing them to go on the defensive. School officials strive to ensure compliance by pledging unwavering fidelity to government rules and regulations.

The government order issued on Thursday aims to address the persistent monopoly of private schools in the state and requires them to submit fee details to a designated portal by June 8.

When the Free Press spoke to representatives from several of the city’s private schools, they expressed their commitment to complying with government regulations.

Shailesh Zope, principal of Anand Vihar School, confirmed that the school has already submitted details of its fee structure and is in the process of finalizing this year’s audit report, which was expected to be submitted before the deadline. “We can increase the fee by a maximum of 10%, and if we want to increase it further, we will obtain the collector’s consent, so there will be no problem,” he added.

Similarly, the Sisters of Mount Carmel school assured compliance with government guidelines, saying that all details regarding the fee structure have already been posted on the school’s portal and all procedures are transparent.

The vice-principal of another well-known private school, speaking anonymously, confirmed the existing regulations. She said schools usually provide advance notice of fee adjustments and operate within established frameworks.

A decision beneficial for students

“The government’s decision is ultimately in favor of children. At the administrative level, we welcome the government’s decision. However, if in the future it turns out that this is just an order without substantive implementation, we will not hesitate to take appropriate action. — Dravind More, Chairman, Child Protection Commission
