Caobisco, the European confectionery, chocolate and pastry industry association, welcomed its return to participate in this year’s World Confectionery Conference in its home city of Brussels, Belgium, writes Neill Barston.

This key organization became a founding partner of our event, which is now in its fourth edition and has special significance this year as it celebrates the 90th anniversary of our publication.

This year we will once again shine a spotlight on sustainability across all spheres of the industry, as well as highlighting key innovations across the sector as another key element of this year’s exhibition, which returns to Brussels on September 12. On the morning of September 13, there will also be an additional chocolate tasting trip, which will be a fitting finale to the latest edition of our conference.

The group is set to reveal who will be the keynote speaker at our event later this month, following internal elections, and the group will join an existing strong line-up including Cargill, Ferrero, Tony’s Chocolonely, Mintel, FMCG Gurus, Palsgaard, Kruger & Salecker, Plamil Foods , DT&G Ltd and ZDS confectionery school and many others.

In an interview with Confectionery Production, Muriel Korter, CEO of Caobisco, was delighted that the organization “is excited to once again welcome the WCC 2024 conference to Brussels”, a city known as the chocolate capital of the world and the heart of the European Union.

The director emphasized that this event will be a platform for companies from all over Europe and beyond to present the high added value of producers in the confectionery, bakery products and chocolate industries.

“In this crucial election year,” emphasized Muriel Korter, “EU citizens will determine the legislative and political direction of the EU at a time of significant internal and external challenges, shaping the future of the Union for years to come. We hope that the right path will be chosen, which will focus on, among other things, sustainable development and innovation in the industry. He believes that the event will be an excellent opportunity to share innovative developments in the industry among producers and exchange views on the current economic, political and social challenges affecting the chocolate, biscuits and confectionery sectors in the EU and global markets.
