Cork County Council approves the appointment of Moira Murrell as Chief Executive

A meeting of elected members confirmed the nomination.

Cork County Council has voted to ratify the appointment of Moira Murrell as Chief Executive of Cork County Council.

The committee held a special meeting of the Full Council on Tuesday, June 4vol that elected members consider the recommendations of the Public Appointments Service and the views of the Corporate Policy Group.

Mayor of County Cork, Councilor Frank O’Flynn, said: “We are delighted to have formally ratified the appointment of Moira Murrell as Chief Executive of Cork County Council. She has extensive experience and is committed to public service. We look forward to welcoming her back to Cork County Council. I know that with her leadership and vision we will continue to make County Cork an extraordinary place to live, work and visit.”

Cork County Council has written to Moira Murrell and the Public Appointments Office to notify them of its decision.
