Netflix will end support for older Apple TV devices on July 31, 2024

Netflix has announced that it will end support for older Apple TV devices on July 31, 2024. The company recently sent an email to subscribers notifying them of the change.

Heads up! After July 31, 2024, one of your devices will no longer be supported
You’re receiving this email because you’ve used Apple TV (2nd generation) and/or Apple TV (3rd generation) with Netflix in the past. Unfortunately, we will end support for these devices on July 31, 2024. We know this can be frustrating, but we’re doing it to give you the best possible Netflix viewing experience.

The second generation Apple TV was released on September 1, 2010 (13 years ago), the third generation was released on March 7, 2012 (12 years ago), and the third generation version A was released on January 28, 2013 (11 years ago).

If you have a thin Apple TV, it’s an old model and will need to be replaced if you plan to continue using Netflix. Fortunately, Apple TV 4K is now on sale for its lowest price ever. So if you need an update, now is a good time!
