Bar Harbor Mountain Desert Police announce the death of Officer Kenneth Mitchell

BAR HARBOR, Maine (WABI) – The Bar Harbor Mountain Desert Police Department shared some sad news today.

Officer Kenneth Mitchell passed away following a battle with cancer, the department announced in a Facebook post.

Mitchell served his community for more than 30 years.

He was previously employed by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.

The post states that the department will miss Mitchell’s infectious smile and sense of humor.
