Samsung launches Odyssey OLED gaming monitors, smart monitors and ViewFinity monitors in India. Prices, specifications, offers

Samsung has officially launched its 2024 lineup of Odyssey OLED gaming monitors, Smart Monitors and ViewFinity in the Indian market. These new monitors are said to deliver a next-level experience with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 and the enhanced Smart Monitor line deliver great entertainment experiences, while the AI-powered Smart Monitor M8 and ViewFinity line provide enhanced connectivity.

Price, availability and offers

The starting price of the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 has been set at Rs 92,399. The Smart Monitor series starts at Rs 15,399 and the Viewfinity monitors start at Rs 21,449. These monitors will be sold on the Samsung online store. Prospective buyers can purchase these monitors on Samsung’s official online platform, Samsung Shop, as well as on e-commerce platforms Amazon India, Flipkart and other leading retail stores.

From June 5 to 11, buyers will be able to get free EMI options and instant cart discount up to Rs 2,750 on purchase of Odyssey OLED G6 series and Smart Monitor on Samsung online store. Those who choose the Samsung Smart Monitor M8 will receive a free Samsung Sound Bar, and those purchasing the OLED G6 will receive a free pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.

E-commerce sites Amazon and Flipkart are offering a discount worth Rs 11,100 on these models.

Samsung Odyssey OLED series specifications and features

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27-inch monitor with QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, 360 Hz refresh rate and ultra-fast GtG response time of 0.03 ms, making it ideal for gamers. This new model introduces Samsung OLED Safeguard+, an anti-burn-in technology that uses a pulsating heat pipe to prevent burn-in.

The dynamic cooling system improves heat dissipation by evaporating and condensing the coolant, providing five times more effective heat management compared to traditional graphite sheets, Samsung claims. The monitor also detects static images such as logos and taskbars, automatically dimming their brightness to prevent burn-in.

The Odyssey OLED G6 is said to deliver exceptional OLED image quality with a typical brightness of 250 nits. FreeSync Premium Pro ensures perfect synchronization of the GPU and display panel, eliminating interference, lag and image tearing. Samsung’s OLED Glare Free technology maintains color accuracy and reduces reflections while maintaining image sharpness, even in bright daylight.

The monitor has an ultra-slim metal chassis and features Core Lighting+ technology that synchronizes ambient lighting with on-screen content for an immersive experience.

Samsung ViewFinity series specifications and features

Tailored to the needs of creators and professionals, the ViewFinity line includes ViewFinity S8 (Models S80UD and S80D), ViewFinity S7 (Model S70D) and ViewFinity S6 (Models S60UD and S60D). ViewFinity 2024 monitors contain at least 10% recycled plastic and avoid the use of chemical sprays on plastic components. Additionally, the packaging uses glue instead of staples, making it easier to disassemble, in line with the brand.

Featuring an easy-to-configure stand that connects in one quick motion—no tools or screws required—ViewFinity monitors enable quick and hassle-free setup, so users can quickly immerse themselves in a vivid display. Each monitor supports HDR10 and boasts the ability to display 1 billion colors. Moreover, they integrate TÜV-Rheinland certified Intelligent Eye Care features to reduce eye strain.

ViewFinity S8 will be available in 27-inch and 32-inch screen versions, both offering 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and 350 nits brightness. Featuring a USB hub and height-adjustable stand, the S80UD introduces a new KVM switch that allows you to easily connect and switch between two input devices. Additionally, it has a USB-C port that allows you to charge devices with a power of up to 90W.

ViewFinity S7 is available in 27-inch and 32-inch configurations, offering UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution, 350 nits brightness, and a 60Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the ViewFinity S6 is available in 24-inch, 27-inch and 32-inch versions, each offering QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, 100Hz refresh rate and 350 nits brightness. Both models feature a USB hub and height-adjustable stand, while the S60UD has a built-in KVM switch and a USB-C port that supports up to 90W charging.

Samsung Smart Monitor M8 specifications and features

The revamped Smart Monitor line delivers versatile multi-device capabilities in one hub for smarter entertainment and increased productivity. Updates for 2024 include the M8 (M80D model), M7 (M70D model) and M5 (M50D model). The upgraded 32-inch 4K UHD M8 smart monitor includes AI-powered features using the NQM AI processor to elevate your entertainment experience.

AI upscaling increases lower resolution content to nearly 4K, while Active Voice Amplifier Pro uses AI to analyze background noise and optimize dialogue in user content. Enabling the M8’s 360 audio mode in conjunction with the Galaxy Buds is said to create an immersive audio environment. Additionally, the built-in SlimFit camera enables smooth video calls via mobile apps via Samsung Dex.

The M7 is available in 32-inch and 43-inch versions, with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution, 300 nits brightness and a 4 ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time. On the other hand, the M5 is available in 27 and 32-inch sizes, offers FHD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 250 nits brightness and 4 ms GtG response time.
