Premier Truck Group Expands Through Acquisition at Midwestern

Premier Truck GroupPremier Truck Group has acquired La Crosse, Wisconsin-based River States Truck and Trailer. The acquisition is expected to increase Premier Truck Group’s estimated annual revenues by $200 million, the company says.

River States operates five facilities strategically located in western Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota along the key trucking lanes of I-90 and I-94 between Chicago and Minneapolis, including:

Three full-service Freightliner and Western Star dealers:

  • River States Truck and Trailer – Eau Claire, which will become Premier Truck Group of Eau Claire
  • River States Truck and Trailer – La Crosse, which will become Premier Truck Group of La Crosse
  • River States Truck and Trailer – Roberts, which will become Premier Truck Group of Roberts

Two independent repair plants:

  • JL Truck and Trailer, based in Osseo, Wisconsin.
  • Minnesota Truck and Trailer, located in Eagan, Minnesota.

The company says the acquisition of River States Premier Truck Group will add an additional 161,000 square feet of facilities, 96 service bays and 63 technicians. This move is also the first time the previous two have been combined Effective dealer Award winners. Premier Truck Group won the award Effective dealer Last year’s Dealer Excellence Award; River States Truck and Trailer was recognized in 2016.

According to the company, Haig Partners (Alan Haig and Derek Garber) served as selling counsel to River States Truck and Trailer in the transaction.
