Good Hope City Council approves zoning rules and regulations ordinance

GOOD HOPE, Ala. – The Good Hope City Council met for the first time in June at Good Hope City Hall on Monday evening and approved an ordinance establishing rules and regulations for municipal districts that are consistent with current standards set by the county.

Article 1 of Regulation No.: 009-2024 states that:

“These are the adopted regulatory policies of the City of Good Hope regarding the construction of streets and/or drainage structures (including pipe requirements) for new roads or new subdivisions and/or other developments in Good Hope, Alabama, located in Cullman County.”

Intention

  1. To protect and ensure the public health, safety and general welfare of residents and property owners in Cullman County.
  2. To serve as a guide for the future growth and development of Cullman County.
  3. To protect the character, social and economic development of all lands of Good Hope and to encourage the orderly and beneficial development of the estate.
  4. Regulating public and private policies and activities to ensure adequate and efficient transportation, streets and public facilities.
  5. Establishing reasonable design standards and subdivision procedures to support the orderly layout and use of land and to provide appropriate legal descriptions and monuments on subdivided land.
  6. Promoting the eventual elimination of unsafe or unsanitary conditions.

The Good Hope City Council will hold its next regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Good Hope City Hall.
