Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a global leader in projectors and displays, today announced the launch of new Sharp P Series projectors, the XP-P601Q and XP-P721Q. The new P Series projectors are the first Sharp projectors to draw on NEC’s more than 35 years of projector design experience. Sharp P-Series projectors provide viewers with stunning ultra-high-definition (UHD) 4K images that are bright enough for commercial use in a wide range of industries and signage applications, including corporate meeting rooms, museums and colleges.

Excellent 4K UHD image quality

Sharp’s new P-series projectors create images that will leave a lasting impression, and the 6,000-lumen P601Q and 7,200-lumen P721Q models deliver incredibly sharp and clear quality even in well-lit areas. This makes Sharp P Series projectors ideal for corporate applications and higher education classrooms, as well as for fast-growing, emerging markets such as museums and golf simulators, which have experienced significant growth in both the consumer market as well as commercial.

Maintenance-free

Sharp’s new P Series laser projectors use DLP imaging technology that has been designed to be filter-free, meaning the projector is maintenance-free and has a low total cost of ownership for at least 20,000 hours. Without a lamp and without a filter, Sharp P-Series projectors are designed to provide years of trouble-free operation.

Flexible installations

Sharp’s new P Series projectors feature a wide, motorized 1.6x zoom lens and motorized vertical and horizontal lens shift, giving the installer more options when choosing where to install. When there are obstructions on the ceiling and an ideal mounting location is not possible, a wide zoom lens with large horizontal and vertical lens shifts can provide a square image with minimal digital adjustments, even if the installation location is not perfectly aligned with the screen. These features make the very complicated and tedious installation process much easier, faster and less expensive.

Sharp P Series projectors also feature HDBaseT inputs, which can simplify installation by providing the ability to run a single long-distance cable for video, audio and control instead of HDMI. Meanwhile, the Tilt-free and Roll-free function enables floor, ceiling and portrait projection and opens up new possibilities for P Series projectors in unique applications.

“The launch of a high-quality 4K UHD projector as our first Sharp projector since the founding of our joint venture further demonstrates our leadership in the higher resolution projector market,” said Ryan Pitterle, senior product manager for projectors at Sharp . “Featuring a maintenance-free design, Sharp’s new P-Series projectors will become the new industry standard for 4K UHD projectors, thanks to over 35 years of projector experience and expertise from our joint venture with NEC.”

While Sharp continues NEC’s legacy of quality and reliability in the projector market, the company also maintains a best-in-class 5-year limited warranty and an advanced InstaCare exchange program or 3-day repair and return during the limited warranty period. To ensure the highest level of customer service for its projector product line, Sharp provides a highly skilled technical support team with over 50 years of projector experience available to current and potential projector customers.

Sharp specializes in delivering the best projectors to the market, with a comprehensive and experienced team throughout the entire product lifecycle, including engineering and design, technical support, product management and sales and marketing.
