Roads closed after car crashed into utility pole in Conway

CONWAY, S.C. (WMBF) – A single-car crash Thursday night caused a road closure in Conway after the car crashed into a utility pole.

The Horry County Fire Department said the crash happened on Cates Bay Highway near Townsend Lane around 5:33 p.m.

The driver was taken to an area hospital.

HCFR said the road is expected to remain closed for an extended period of time and motorists should use Willow Springs Road to Allen Dew Road.

Municipal teams continue their work to repair the pole.

SCHP is investigating the crash.
