Innocent man left with life-threatening injuries after Dauphin Street shooting, family seeks support

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Tonight an innocent man faces fatal injuries. Shooting at Hayley’s Bar on October 20th.

According to the Mobile Police Department, Michael Sullivan was arrested and charged with first-degree assault after he attempted to shoot another person but missed and shot victim Cody Goff, who was in the back of the bar.

Candace Goff, the victim’s sister, told FOX10 News they are recovering every day.

“Even though he’s had two major surgeries and is able to walk, we don’t know if it’s going to be an accident in the next five days, and that’s very scary,” Goff said. “All these medical bills pile up and no one thinks about it, but you have to do it.”

Goff said his brother was on a ventilator for the first 24 hours and surgeons had to remove about 30cm of the brother’s large and small intestines, a major artery was severely damaged and had to be ligated.

The family expects Cody’s recovery to be a long journey and GoFundMe Helping raise money to support him during this difficult time.
