Sensex and Nifty crashed today: IndusInd Bank, NTPC, Adani Ports, Shriram Finance among top losers

Today’s market crash: The Indian stock market crashed on Friday, extending losses for a sixth consecutive session. In late morning transactions, Sensex fell 663 points to 79,399, while Nifty lost 260 points to 24,139. 19 out of 30 Sensex stocks were trading in the red. ITC, Sun Pharma, HCL Tech, Asian Paints, Nestle India and HUL were the top gainers today, rising up to 4%.

Some 101 stocks reached 52-week highs today, while 202 stocks reached 52-week lows. Market breadth was negative as out of 3857 shares traded, 606 were traded in green and 3146 were traded in red. Approximately 105 stocks remained unchanged.

While the BSE midcap index decreased by 872.57 points, the BSE small cap index decreased by 1343 points to 52,300.

BSE consumer durables index was the biggest loser, falling 2300 points to 60,604 points, followed by capital goods and automotive indices, which fell 2021 points and 1554 points respectively.

All 19 BSE sector indices are trading in the red.

IndusInd Bank

InduInd Bank shares fell 19% to a 52-week low of Rs 1026.85 from its previous close of Rs 1278.90. Around 15.06 lakh shares of the company changed hands, accounting for a turnover of Rs 163.52 billion on Sensex. The stock was also the biggest loser on Nifty, falling 20% ​​to Rs 1,026.30.

M&M’s

M&M shares fell 4.93% to Rs 2688.70 as against previous close of Rs 2828.05. Around 0.72 lakh shares of the company changed hands, resulting in a turnover of Rs 19.70 billion. The stock fell 4.90% to Rs 2687.95 on Nifty.

NTPC

NTPC shares fell 4% to Rs 396.15 compared to its previous close of Rs 411.75. Around 4.04 lakh shares of the company changed hands, resulting in a turnover of Rs 16.18 billion. NTPC stock fell 3.67% to Rs 396.8 on Nifty.

L&T

L&T stock fell 4% to Rs 3315 against its previous close of Rs 3443.10 on Sensex. Around 1 lakh shares of the company changed hands, resulting in a turnover of Rs 33.57 billion.

Adani Ports

Shares of Adani Ports fell 3% to Rs 1310 on the Sensex against its previous close of Rs 1354.10. Around 0.47 lakh shares of the company changed hands, resulting in a turnover of Rs 6.21 billion.

Adani Enterprises

Shares of Adani Enterprises fell 4.17% to Rs 2712.10 on Nifty from its previous close of Rs 2830.20. Around 9.57 lakh shares of the company changed hands, resulting in a turnover of Rs 263.07 billion.

Shriram Finance

Shares of Shriram Finance fell 4.06% to Rs 3113.30 on Nifty from its previous close of Rs 3245.10. Around 16.35 lakh shares of the company changed hands, resulting in a turnover of Rs 515.71 billion.
