The Velva volleyball team hits the road to face Class B rival Des Lacs-Burlington as the regular season comes to a close. The Lady Lakers used their home magic to win 25-12, 25-9 and 25-15 as both teams prepared for season-ending play.

Des Lacs-Burlington is seeded third in the upcoming region 6, region 12 tournament, while Velva is seeded seventh in the region 6, region 11 tournament.

Logen Ystaas led the Lakers with 12 scores, while Ava Brown added 10 points in the victory. Kaylee Werner had 12 digs and 33 assists in the match, while also recording 1,500 career assists. Piper Feller added seven kills and 11 digs in the game, while Hailey Goetz also had 11 digs. Mycah Faken and Hope Walen each scored a score at the net and Maizy Frey had three aces for Des Lacs-Burlington.

Velva was led by Anya Olson with six kills and a block, while MaKena Panchot had five kills in the effort. Lani Colochenko had seven assists and Maddie Schwan had six assists for the Lady Aggies. Keely Cadwell scored 12 points, Brynlee Zieman scored nine points and Rylie Weninger scored eight points.

Velva will be at South Prairie-Max today, October 25, while Des Lacs-Burlington will travel to Hazen for the final games of the regular season for each team on Monday, October 28.

Nedrose 0

The Berthold volleyball team traveled to play at Nedrose and defeated the host Lady Cardinals, 25-13, 25-10, 25-20.

Ella Brown recorded six kills, 20 assists and six digs in the match for Berthold. Shayne Simons and Lily Schepp each killed four people. Schepp, like Aurée Schepp, had two blogs. Simons had 12 digs and four aces in the win. Jericka Scherfisch also had nine digs and two aces in the win.

Sophie Cunningham recorded 25 assists and 16 interceptions in the contest. Emma Jones won with 22 kills and seven blocks, while Mila Jones took part in the victory with two aces and one block. Aubrie Quick recorded 17 digs and seven kills, Hallie Martens ten digs and Ava Stevens recorded four kills in the win.
