Three cats rescued from fire in North Myrtle Beach

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – North Strand firefighters rescued a homeowner’s cats from an overnight fire.

North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue responded just after 1:30 a.m. Friday to the 500 block of 27th Avenue South for a fire.

Crews found a barn attached to the duplex on fire and the fire had spread into the duplex.

They got to work, put out the fire and rescued three cats in the house.

“Crews did an excellent job of quickly bringing this incident under control and preventing more damage from happening,” North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue said in a Facebook post.

Crews cleared the scene around 4:30 a.m.

There were no reports of injuries and the investigation into the fire continues.
