Putin warned of expansion of the Middle East conflict at the BRICS summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that the Middle East is on the brink of all-out war due to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. Speaking at the BRICS summit in Kazan along with leaders such as Xi Jinping (China) and Narendra Modi (India), Putin stressed that the situation resembles a “chain reaction” that threatens regional stability.

Chinese President Xi has reiterated his call for de-escalation, advocating a comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He also emphasized the importance of a political settlement in Ukraine, calling for joint efforts to pave the way to peace.

Although the summit emphasized the influence of the BRICS countries, it did not take any concrete steps to end the conflicts. Leaders expressed concern about global crises but found it difficult to bring their differing perspectives together to come up with practical solutions.
