Eastbound I-10 closed due to pedestrian collision near stack

PHOENIX — Eastbound Interstate 10 is closed near Stack in Phoenix after a pedestrian was struck early Friday morning.

Arizona Department of Public Safety officials confirmed the crash happened before 4 a.m.

The pedestrian was reportedly taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It is not specified whether the car that hit the pedestrian remained at the scene after the accident.

The freeway will remain closed as DPS continues its investigation. It is unclear when eastbound I-10 will reopen.
