ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police are investigating after shots were fired in at least three locations in the city’s northeast area on Friday around the same time. RPD says they found a gun in a car near one of those locations.

Officers responded to a shooting on Claremount Street near Rosemary Drive around 2:30 a.m. and found a home had been hit. Around the same time, officers responded to a shooting on Webster Avenue near Rosewood Terrace. They didn’t see anything damaged, but officers spotted a car leaving the area.

Officers stopped the car on Keller Street near North Goodman Street, a half-mile away, and reported finding a gun. Three people are currently in custody and charges have been filed.

Five minutes after responding to Webster Avenue, officers responded to a shooting at Hudson Avenue and Upper Falls Boulevard but saw nothing hit.

In none of these shootings did police find victims. RPD learned all of this from ShotSpotter alerts.
