GORMAN, Calif. (KABC) — Authorities have identified the driver of a stolen car who died after a high-speed chase ended in a violent rollover in northern Los Angeles County on Wednesday.

Anna Zauner, 26 years old, was killed after escaping from police for more than an hour Authorities say he was driving a stolen 2024 Honda CRV at a high rate of speed before he lost control and crashed into a guardrail and overpass on the 5 Freeway in Gorman.

It is unclear how the car was stolen.

The chase began around 2 p.m. in the Sylmar area when LAPD officers began pursuing the suspect.

During the pursuit, she crossed traffic lanes and a construction zone, sometimes reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph.

The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal crash.
