YouTube launches shopping partner program in India

YouTube on Friday launched the YouTube Shopping Partner Program in India, which will allow eligible creators to tag products in their videos and earn income when viewers buy them from retailers’ websites.

Announcing that the program will be launched starting with Flipkart and Myntra, the Google-owned video platform called the Indian market a “strong contributor” to the creative economy globally.

“We are now bringing the same momentum to India by launching the YouTube Shopping Partner Program starting with Flipkart and Myntra. Simply put, the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program allows creators to earn money by recommending products in videos, short films, and live broadcasts. According to YouTube, the program makes it easier for viewers to search and purchase, while also creating new income opportunities for creators.

The YouTube Shopping Partner Program builds on existing monetization options such as ad revenue, YouTube Premium, brand affiliation, and other fan-powered features such as Channel Membership, Super Thanks, Super Chat, and Super Stickers, giving creators a complete set of engagement tools. and thrive on the platform.
