Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office said it happened just before 8:30 p.m. Monday near the Marquette interchange. Harris just completed rally in Brookfield when an oncoming car drove past her motorcade.

Prosecutors said Wacker appeared to be driving at highway speeds. He was stopped near 13th Street and police said he “had a very strong odor of intoxicants, bloodshot and glassy eyes, and extremely slurred speech.”

Wacker told police he was returning home from Walker’s Point at the bar and was “unaware” he was driving the wrong way on the interstate, the complaint states. He was transported to the nearby Milwaukee Intermodal Station for field sobriety tests, and the complaint states a preliminary breath test showed a BAC of 0.252.

While awaiting a blood draw as part of an OWI investigation, prosecutors said Wacker told deputies he had “no recollection” of driving onto the freeway or nearly crashing into another vehicle. He also said he had no idea Harris was in Milwaukee and had no intention of harming her or anyone involved in her campaign.

Prosecutors noted that Wacker has not been charged with OWI at this time. However, the complaint states that Wisconsin Department of Transportation records show he was previously convicted of OWI in 2000, meaning the offense is not countable under state law and it would count as his first OWI offense if that charge will be filed at a later date.

The U.S. Secret Service said it is aware of the incident and is grateful to MCSO deputies. The agency did not agree to FOX6 News’ request for an interview earlier this week.

Another one happened in September Milwaukee accident with the motorcade. Press vans following Tim Walz the motorcade stood behind while traveling around the city in September.
