Sarah Dancer, Naked and Afraid contestant, dies at 34

Sarah Dancer, a regular on “Naked and Afraid,” has died at age 34 after being involved in a car accident in Hawaii, police said.

A 59-year-old man was driving in the Kahala area on Sunday, October 20, when he lost control and crashed into a parked car, Honolulu police said. KHNLNBC affiliate in Honolulu, Hawaii. The reality TV star and master diver was wearing a seat belt as a passenger in the car and was hospitalized in critical condition.

Police said speed, not drugs or alcohol, was a factor in the crash. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was in serious condition after the accident. Of the two people in the parked car, the woman was in serious condition, and the man refused treatment.

Sarah Dancer died from her injuries on Tuesday, Oct. 22, her father Dan Dancer told the affiliate.

“I really saw how much she changed the lives of others,” Dan Dancer said, adding, “I think she saved my life one day diving in Indonesia.”

Her brother Jake Dancer also told the publication: “Magical is how you would describe her. Sarah had this positive energy that really permeated the environment she was in.”

Sarah Dancer was born in Castle Rock, Colorado and lived in Hawaii for 12 years. She lived part-time on a boat in the Kewalo Basin, according to KHNL.

A breast cancer survivor, she was also a boat captain, a survivalist, and appeared in five seasons of the Naked and Afraid franchise. In August 2023, she starred in the CW series Fight for Survival.
