Anthony Edwards’ outrageous statement caught the attention of Derrick Henry

Anthony Edwards’ confidence is a key element to Ant-Man’s success. We’ve seen Edwards exude great self-belief, quote after quote. His skills and mindset have allowed him to have a stellar NBA career. The 24-year-old was an All-Star and NBA All-Star, an Olympic gold medal winner and a Western Conference Finals team leader. In almost half a century of work, you cannot find anything better than this. His skills, mindset and physique help him in his pursuit of greatness.

Edwards is 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds. He will tell you(and Justin Jefferson) that he would be much bigger if he lifted weights like football players. Is this nonsense? I would say no – the 24-year-old is, naturally, wounded. But his next quote lost me.

Edwards claims he can take on Derrick Henry, the greatest running back of the 2020s, in a one-on-one situation in the hole. If Edwards said he could help the gang take down Henry, my ears would perk up a little, but when he said he could take down King Henry on his own, my ears perked up like a confused pit bull.

Edwards was a nationally recognized football great growing up in the Atlanta area, but Henry is a different example. Some of the best NFL offensive players of all time get push back when they say they could handle Henry – and they are great people. Henry has been tearing apart defenses since 2019 and is squarely in the NFL MVP race this season.

The 6’4″ monster defender runs through linebackers and not just through smaller defenders. Henry helped Baltimore Ravens is off to a 5-2 start and his numbers in this new offense are astounding. Through seven games, Henry has 873 yards and eight TDs, both of which lead the NFL. Anthony Edwards would have had a chance given his natural ability and physique if he had dedicated his life to football. He won’t go over and take on one of the most fearsome runners he’s ever seen on the gridiron today – but you have to love Edwards’ faith. That’s what Ant, Ant does.
