Carlos Alcaraz gets the easy way into the Rolex Paris Masters

There are plenty of exciting tennis tournaments taking place these days, but the sport received an extra boost of energy on Friday afternoon. The organizers of the Rolex Paris Masters tournament have officially announced the draw.

It’s the last Masters 1000 tournament of the 2024 season and several players are scrambling to secure one of the last remaining spots at the ATP Finals next month.

Below is a detailed look at the Rolex Paris Masters singles draw, as well as some potential matchups that tennis fans have already begun to circle in their brackets.

One of the most notable aspects of the draw is the absence of seven-time champion Novak Djokovic. Earlier this week it was announced that Djokovic miss the tournament for the first time since 2020. The news is also not welcome for Lacoste, which sponsors Djokovic and the tournament.

Unsurprisingly, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz occupy the top two spots on opposite sides of the draw. However, their path to victory is far from clear as the field is tight this year. But Alcaraz certainly has the edge.

Fans immediately pointed to a potential second-round match between Jannik Sinner and Ben Shelton (Sinner had beaten Shelton in four out of five matches).

Additionally, Taylor Fritz and Alexander Fritz were once again on the same side of the net. Zverev faces fierce competition to reach the semi-finals, with Sinner, Fritz, Andrey Rublev and Lorenzo Musetti standing in his way.

On the other side of the bracket, Carlos Alcaraz faces a slightly easier list of potential matches. Aside from Brandon Nakashima in the third round, his first real test wouldn’t come until the semi-finals.

Daniil Medvedev, Francis Tiafoe and Grigor Dimitrov could prevent Sinner from winning another singles title this season.

The Paris Rolex Masters will take place from October 26 to November 3. The top eight seeds qualify for the hard court tournament in the first round. With the ATP Finals taking place next week, this tournament will be of great importance towards the end of the season.
