Fatal motorcycle crash near Summerlin

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) — Las Vegas Metro Police say one person is dead after a motorcycle collided with an SUV.

On October 25, just after 3 p.m., police responded to a crash on El Capitan Way south of Saddle Avenue.

According to police witness statements and surveillance video, a black Jeep Grand Cherokee was exiting a private driveway northbound when a white Yiben 150cc motorcycle passed.

Reports say the rider was ejected after hitting the left front of the Jeep.

Medical workers stated that the rider died on the spot.

The driver of the Jeep was not suspected of being intoxicated and was cooperating with police, according to LVMPD.

This is now the 128th traffic-related death in the Las Vegas metro jurisdiction in 2024.

The crash remains under investigation.
