KEY MATCHUP

Washington WR Denzel Boston vs. Indiana secondary. The Huskies lost their top three receivers from the 2023 class to the NFL, giving the 6-foot-4, 209-pound Bostonian an opportunity to show off his skills. While his 40 receptions and 540 yards may not look flashy, he leads the Big Ten and ranks second nationally with nine touchdown catches. He’ll present a different kind of challenge to the nation’s 30th-ranked pass defender.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Washington: CB Thaddeus Dixon. The Los Angeles prep star’s game footage shows his versatility. At 6-foot-1, he can compete with taller receivers and enters Week 9 with 19 tackles, 1/2 a tackle for loss, one interception and a team-high six pass breakups. Testing it could be dangerous.

Indiana: QB Taiven Jackson. The third-year player has become a fan favorite since transferring from Tennessee to his home state school. Although he struggled last year, he looked comfortable replacing the injured Kurtis Rourke in the second half last week. With Rourke sidelined (surgery on his right thumb) this week, Jackson’s job is to maintain a perfect grade for the Hoosiers.
