Harris and Trump’s podcast appearances are just another part of their broader campaign and communications strategy, said Jeff Gulati, a political science professor at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.

For Trump, that includes appealing to young, often politically disinterested men who are “predisposed to supporting him but less likely to vote,” Gulati says.
