Brighton ‘not mature enough and not professional enough’ in Wolverhampton draw – Fabian Hurtzeler

Head coach Fabian Hurseler blamed Brighton & Hove Albion for their latest mistake against Wolverhampton Wanderers immaturity and unprofessionalism.

Hurtzeler said: “We lost two points and suffered a setback in development today. We weren’t mature enough or professional enough to win this game. We need to learn from this quickly.”

Ait-Nouri’s goal came from a corner that was not cleared, and Cunha equalized on the counter-attack after a pass from the substitute. Mats Wiffer which was intercepted by the Wolverhampton midfielder Tommy Doyle when the guests were outnumbered four players to one.

Hurtzeler added: “You can’t win games like this beautifully, and then you have to win them ugly.

“Until the second goal from our side, we controlled the game, defended well and became too passive.

“We weren’t ruthless enough in defending set pieces, we had a big chance to score a third goal, we missed it and then we got punished. We acted unprofessionally and we need to learn from this. This is very important.”

Brighton Captain Lewis Dunk he will undergo scans of a calf injury sustained during warm-up that has kept him out of his 250th Premier League appearance. Igor Julio was urgently called back to the center of defense.

Brighton face Liverpool in the last 16 of the League Cup on Wednesday before traveling to Anfield to face Liverpool again in the league three days later.
