I know this question can be difficult to answer because there are so many great horror movies out there that it’s hard to choose just one! I’ll start… and this may not come as a surprise to anyone who reads this site, but for me… Trick or Treat.

I love the anthology format, where multiple stories are woven into one cohesive narrative to create a tapestry of Halloween horror. From werewolves to serial killers to vengeful spirits, each segment explores a different aspect of Halloween traditions.

It’s funny how these stories subtly intertwine and connect. Director Michael Dougherty masterfully balances the tone of the film, mixing creepy atmosphere, dark humor and gruesome violence, making every moment both hilarious and suspenseful.

The storytelling technique keeps the audience interested as each story feels like a new perspective while maintaining the sense of mystery and fear that binds them all together.

Trick or Treat also shines with its iconic imagery and unforgettable characters, especially Sam, a small pumpkin-headed figurine who stands as a symbol of the dark spirit of Halloween.

The film captures the festive yet spooky spirit of Halloween by playing with familiar holiday motifs such as jack-o’-lanterns, costumes and candy, all wrapped up in a spooky lens.

Respect for the traditions and rules of the holiday adds a creepy element. I love how it perfectly captures the spirit of Halloween, combining tradition with horror in a way that is timeless and can be re-watched every year.

Whether you love classic horror or something a little more unusual, this is your chance to pay homage to the films that made you scream. Share your favorite!
