Police detained a man who gave out substances that caused an overdose

London police say they have arrested the man believed to be responsible for a string of non-fatal overdoses that prompted… Friday safety alert noon.

Police say a man in a red sedan was handing out free substances to several people in the area of ​​Queens Avenue and Adelaide Street North.

London Police have provided surrounding police services with details of the description of the suspect and vehicle to assist with the investigation.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday, Strathroy Police Service located the suspect in the area of ​​Second Street and Center Road in Strathroy.

However, Strathroy police said the suspect fled in his vehicle.

Toronto Police Service then said it located the suspect in Etobicoke.

The suspect was arrested at approximately 3:20 a.m. Saturday. No injuries were reported.

A 26-year-old Thornhill man is charged with “resisting arrest,” “failure to stop for police/pursuit,” and “driving on schedule I on merit.”

Police are reminding anyone who may have received a free substance from the accused not to ingest or use it and to call LPS.

The investigation is ongoing.
