Israel carried out retaliatory strikes on several targets in Iran

Israel confirmed it struck numerous military targets during retaliatory strikes on Iran on Saturday in an operation later dubbed “Days of Repentance.”

According to public broadcaster KAN11, the attack was declared over at 5:45 a.m. as the sun began to rise over Tehran.

The attack occurred in three major waves, U.S. and Israeli officials said. According to Axios and New York Times.

Iran told AFP it had not received any reports of casualties from the strikes.

Later, early Saturday morning, the IDF announced the end of its retaliatory operation against Iran.

The IDF said the strikes were carried out in response to ongoing attacks on the State of Israel and its citizens.

The IDF confirmed that the operation was completed and that all mission objectives were achieved and all aircraft returned home safely.

The US Air Force struck missile factories that produced the missiles Iran fired at Israel last year.

According to Israeli media, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant led the attacks from a secure compound at IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv.

“The IDF is currently attacking precise targets in Iran,” IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said in a statement. “This is a response to the Iranian regime’s ongoing attacks on the State of Israel.

A second wave of airstrikes has been reported following explosions in Shiraz early Saturday morning.

“The IDF is fully prepared for attack and defense. We are monitoring developments in Iran and its proxies in the region.”

No changes were announced to the orders of the rear command. Israel’s security cabinet also met to approve the strikes.

Iranian officials and media have denied Israeli airstrikes, saying the explosions were the result of Iranian air defenses; an Israeli official categorically denied this in an interview with Ynet, saying: “This is a lie. Complete failure – zero interceptions.”

There were also reports of explosions at Imam Khomeini International Airport in the Iranian capital. However, Iranian officials deny that anything was wrong.

Parallel Operations

According to Israeli media, the IDF launched an artillery attack on the Al-Bureij refugee camp in the Gaza Strip as part of a wider series of strikes across the region, including both air and ground attacks on terrorist strongholds.

Israel also attacked targets in Syria, with the Syrian military confirming that the IDF carried out strikes on targets in central and southern Syria.

Explosions were also reported in Iraq as part of a series of responses to Iran and its proxies across the region.
